About
A bit about me
I was born in Shrewsbury, in 1976, and grew up in Dawley; a little town in the heart of Shropshire. Dawley had been a mining town in the 1800s and earlier 1900s, but by the time I was a kid, the mining had finished. There were still many of the old spoil heaps dotting the landscape; now overgrown with grass and purple heather. Also, a few streets from my home, a wood of fir trees had been planted in the 1930's. This, along with the spoil heaps that nature had reclaimed, made for a perfect fantasy landscape. Just a short walk through the housing estates and down the old farm lane, and (with a bit of imagination) I was surrounded by wild forests, tall grasslands and towering mountains!

About my first novel, The Lost Treasure of Perlos

Perlos first saw light on the afternoon of September 9th, 2018, when I had a sudden idea for a tale about a mysterious king, ruling over a city of magnificence and wonder. Given the working title of The Red Emerald, the story featured the Royal Inventor of the city of Perlos, the character who would later become Conch. He was tasked by the King and Queen to deliver blueprints of his latest invention (a form of underfloor heating) to the magical city of Felicity. Accompanied by his apprentice, three guards and a coachman, they travelled to a town called Fare O' Tala, where they stayed overnight at the Homely Inn. Only one chapter was written. It was originally going to be a short story, but it grew so much, I realised that a book was being born.
